Pk 380 slide bulge ?

I posted this in the Auto section but thought perhaps Gunsmithing and Repairs would be a better place to get help for this particular problem.

My wife's new PK 380 has a bulge in the slide. She fired some 75 rounds through it without a single hickup. However, when I stripped the gun for cleaning, I noticed a bulge in the slide near the discharge port. Has anyone seen anything lilke this before? I can't figure out how it go there, but I strongly suspect that the bulge was there when we bought it.

Yeah, that don't look too so good! You, nor your wife, were aware of it not firing correctly while shooting? No hard recoiling?

No, no hard recoiling. I seems to shoot perfectly with no jams/stovepipes after 200 rounds now.

I've contacted S & W about the bulge but they are proving difficult to deal with and are reluctant to send me a shipping label. :mad:
