In the past 3 months I have gone from a Sigma 40, to an SD40, to a Bersa Thunder UC 40, now I'm still in search for the right one. I'm looking to buy Tuesday and am quite fond of the slim SR40 design, the stainless slide, and high capacity but I have read so much negativity about them in reviews. Peening, FTF, light strikes, etc. Any one have anything good to say about them, I really want one but haven't heard much good. I hear the SR9C is the tits, but not my fancy.

I just bought the SR40 2 weeks ago. I really like this gun. The gun feels good in the hand and the trigger breaks easy. I like the fully ajustable sites on the gun and the accuracy is outstanding. Ruger also has night sites available if your interested. Ruger makes great tough accurate guns at reasonble prices, the SR40 is another fine gun by Ruger. If anybody appreciates Ruger revolvers like I do they will soon see they are building that same no-nonsense quality in these new auto's. If you buy it you want be dissappointed.

Can't comment on the SR40, but my brother has an SR9, and it's a dang fine pistol. VERY accurate with great standard sights and good ergonomics. The trigger is nothing to write home about (better than a Glock, but not as good as a Walther), but once you get used to it's initial "hard" feeling, it's not that heavy and it's pretty smooth.

His has been 100% reliable through about 1000 rounds so far.

UM, well, like many of it's 9mm cousins and their .40 cal kin
I would strongly suggest you try it before you buy it, as shoehorning a .40 into a 9mm package tends to be... not FOR ME, or for a lot of people it seems. I think .40 is a swell cartridge, in frames built for it, and not sub Sub-compact.

I'm sure it's a close miracle of engineering to shove it that package...
