Anyone know any good DVD's or books that give in depth detail into building and fitting 1911's?

Not assembly, cleaning, how it works. Any Bloke with a 3/32" punch, some spare time, and something heavy can figure that out. But real info on hard fitting barrels, safeties, etc.

For some reason 1911 thumb safeties are beyond me. I allways mess something up just a hair. I'm the master of "sensitizing" grip safeties, or trigger jobs, but my thumb safeties allways end up a bit splashy with extra play sometimes.

I haven't watched them but hear good things about the Wilson DVD series.

I've seen the Wilson DVD's

They're a bit dated, but still full of a lot of good info.

They focuss on taking a stock Colt and upgrading it with all the popular mods.

They are not ground up build videos.... though I suspect that many concepts transfer.

If you don't already have them, the Kunhausn (spelling ?) shop manuals, vol. 1 & 2 are excellent references.
