Just wanted to rough up the Northerners on the chill going on.

Gonna be out Quail hunting in the morning in a tee shirt. Highs are supposed to be in the upper 70's.

Gonna try some new shells out instead of the Federal Heavy field loads this time. Sellior & Belliot 12 guage 2 3/4" 1 1/8 ounch shot with 3 1/4 dram of powder.

and go to hell! ;)

Off to put on my coveralls, coat, boots, hat and gloves just to walk out to the barn and feed the horses! Its warm out today, must have at least gotten to 28 deg F. A few days back we were down around 8 or 9.

-1 outside right now, never got much above 5 today. Glad the wind wasn't blowing! My brother and I were going to go bunny hunting, we decided to go prowl around Gander Mountain instead.

I'm not jealous a'tall. Granted, sub-zero temps bite, but I don't even get in the mood for hunting untill after the first hard frost....and a few inches of snow is even better. No sweating, no bugs, no snakes, lots of easily spotted and identifiable tracks to get all exited over....I love it. Besides...I enjoy buying a half a dozen different hats, coats, boots, etc. It's the only time of the year I get to compete with my wife for the clothing budget. :D

Was a warm one yesterday. Hit 75 ish out. We stayed out till around 2 pm walking washes and kicking up Quail. I only ended up with 3 Quail.

Did get 2 cottontails as well. So just to tease ya all up north, heres a pic of me in the desert sweating it up in a Molon Labe tee.

That's OK, we're having a heat wave here too. Up to 34 degrees right now, the foot of snow we got yesterday is starting to melt already.:neener:

Florida = heat, huh? Not always! My morning dove hunt yesterday was just above freezing in the Tampa Bay area. It was rather refreshing, actually. A lot nicer than having so many mosquitoes in your face that you can't even see the birds coming in!

The only thing I like to hunt in the heat is beach bunnies- armed with a good spotting scope. I'm about ready to book a safari to St. Pete....or maybe Naples... considering your weather right now.
