I did some trading for this 67.

I once had a 67 with the tapered barrel, sold it and have regretted it every day. It's my favorite S&W. Why I sold it, I don't know. I just did.

Anyway, I got the call today; this one's waiting for me with my dealer. I pick it up tomorrow. I just had to tell someone.

I gave a 28-2 for it, if anyone's curious.

Sorry to tell you -- it's hopelessly defective.
Very unsafe to have a revolver without a hole on the left side.
If you give it to me I will make sure that nobody gets hurt.

Believe it or not, I've never owned one of those or a pencil barrel model 64. But I would trade a 28 for one of those 67's. wait a minute, I sold both my 28's. Oh well.......

I didn't have to give up the 28-2 but I also didn't really enjoy having it. If I was to own a .357, I'd much prefer a 6" barrel. The 4" one was crazy loud. Some folks just love the 4 inchers and I think a pencil-barrelled 67 is the best S&W service revolver, so I traded. For my best overall favorite, I'd say this type of 67 ties with Model 14s. I'm content.

Here's the range report:

I put a Pachmayr on it, shot it and it's great. Without that fat barrel, it balances perfectly. I hate bull barrels. I kinda lost a little interest in K-frames when they started phasing out the tapered ones.
