Best source for mail order ammo?

To you non-reloaders out there,
Where would you advise a friend to mail order practice ammo from? Is there anywhere with decent prices and good customer service that I can feel good about sending customers to? Even if the price isn't the lowest, I prefer a place that had good knowledgeable salespeople to assist new shooters and was active in preserving RKBA.
I don't buy much ammo anymore, so I don't know what to tell people when they ask.

CDNN seems to be one of the more popular...or pick up a copy of Shotgun News at the local wal-mart and look through there for some ammo prices..

Depends on what you're looking to buy. All of the mentioned sites could be the best depending. I've bought from Ammoman, Cascade Ammo, Pro Load and Georgia Arms. CTD and Natchez look like they may be good for some surplus and Euro stuff and there are others. You gots to shop around.

I reload, but when I needed a bunch of defensive ammo someone recommended www.proload.com to me. I ordered 500 Winchester Rangers from them and the price and service was great. Talking to "Crazy John", the owner, on the phone is a hoot too! :)

Having ordered thousands of rounds, I highly recommend the following three retailers:
1) Ammoman
2) Georgia Arms
3) Cheaper-than-Dirt
Ammoman has great customer service, Eric (the ammo man) is a fine person and extremely customer-oriented, their selection is good (although not exhaustive), and their prices are excellent (and include shipping -- no "hidden" costs).
Georgia Arms make outstanding ammunition, both reloads and NEW. Their quality is excellent, their selection is good, their prices are outstanding, and the make some of the finest, hottest defensive handgun loads (Gold Dots) around.
Cheaper-than-Dirt has a wide-range of commercial ammunition, their prices are good, as is their service.
In sum, I look for my requirements in the above order. However, I have NEVER been dissatisfied with an order from any for the foregoing merchants (and would rate Ammoman and Georgia Arms as OUTSTANDING is customer service).

I like Natchez Shooters Supply and Sportsman's Guide. I've bought from ammoman as well. No problems with any of them and well satisfied.
I'm learning a few more to check out on this thread as well.

Don't write ProLoad off for practice ammo either. They have great prices on Magtech (which I usually buy), but they also cary Aguila and S&B at good prices.

I order from a place in Virginia:
www.the-armory.com
Their prices aren't the lowest, but if you are impatient like me, I order today (Weds) I get my order on Friday.
Course its only Virginia to Maryland, but I'll pay an extra dollar a box to not have to wait a week and a half for shipping from the West.
Selection is good too!

I bought some ammo from natchez, and after only shipping 2/3 my order (which their site says they won't do), I got my ammo in a box full of packing peanuts with the boxes open and all the rounds floating loose in the peanuts. I had to spend ten minutes sorting through packing peanuts to get all the rounds back in the boxes. I sent them a polite letter expressing my displeasure with the order, and never heard back from them at all. They won't get any more of my money.
