Help With Loose Sight Screws #2

I have a Williams Sight system installed on my 1991. The Windage adjustment screw "popped out" (that is the only way I can describe it) while it was laying in the drawer. I applied pressure to the adjustment screw and turned it in and it now appears to function correctly again although I haven't had a chance to fire the weapon.
Will putting some type of packing behind the tensioner cure this? Maby I should just contact Williams as the sights probably have less than 200 rounds on them.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Assuming the threads aren't stripped, you may need to apply some locktite. Locktite is a liquid lockwasher that absorbs vibration, provides some adhesion and keeps screws from backing out on you.
Make sure you get the right kind (color coded I think) you want the one for "instrument screws" I believe they call it. If you get one of the other ones (meant for larger bolts) it is essentially glue on smaller screws and cannot be removed . . . . without a drill that is.

This rear sight system has windage and elevation adjustment screws that are supposed to hold adjustment using a detent mechanism so it seems to me that using loctite defeats the purpose of the adjustment mechanism.
Any other recommendations?

Sorry, guess I didn't read closely enough - sounds like you have a defect . . .
