stoeger cougar finish

Was wondering how durable the finish is on a Stoeger Cougar 9MM? Saw one in Sportsmans Wharehouse a couple of weeks back. It was (I assume) Bruniton Silver. It looked like it had chipped and was showing black. They were busy and I didn't get a chance to talk to anyone or get it out of the case.
It seems like the performance reviews I have read are good on it, but what about the finish of both the Bruniton silver and Matte Black.

I don't carry mine, so I don't know about holster wear. All I can say is that if you drop it onto concrete 5 min after you bring the gun home, the finish will chip.:) And the finish is so ugly, that it doesn't matter.:) I've got the matte black, and it looks like it was painted with a rattle can.

Don't know where GLOOB got his, but the finish on the Stoeger's is excellent.
Bruniton is a very durable finish and one developed by Beretta for harsh environments.
I have never had any issue with the finish on either of my two Cougars. Both are matte Bruniton black. Ive had the Stoeger Cougar right next to a Beretta Cougar, the Beretta gets an A+, Stoeger an A-.
Since you're looking at one of the very best handgun values on the market today go for it, you won't be sorry.

I've not had any problems with mine, and always felt that the finish was on a par with CZs.

The fit on my Stoeger is excellent, but the finish is not as good. The frame is fine, but there is a thick grain to the paint on the slide. It doesn't look like Stoeger put as much effort as they should have into the painting process. From what I can tell, the finish is much smoother on Beretta-branded versions.
It still doesn't change the fact that this is a smokin' bargain though.

Couldn't really tell ya, mine only gets taken out of the safe to go to the range. The finish is pretty good quality though.
