What would you pay for a used GP100. I am thinking about buying this one from someone that I know. It is in very good condition (almost new).

Yup -

That would be a great price for a LNIB GP100 that's supposed to be as described by the OP

Id pay 400 because I only pay bottom feeder prices. If I have to pay what it is worth then I can get it somewhere else for less.

In my area a little more than $500 will get you a new one.

I might pay $400 for a really pristine used one.

I've got a 4 inch GP like the one in the first post but with the old style grips. Tight, shoots real good with 180gr Federal castcores, and I paid $300 FLAT, tax included.

My latest GP is a 3 inch Canadian police trade in. Good condtion, shoots right on with 158gr JHP .357s, and I paid a flat $420 (those fixed sighted 3 inchers are expensive!)

It has the smaller old style Ruger rubber grips I'm gonna replace with Eagle SS grips.

And both are very fine field guns.

I'm with Griz22 - you can buy a new one for $450 to $500. Depends on how well you know the person selling - there's guilt involved when you buy from friends and try to low-ball them!

$400-450 is fair

I bought a 4" stainless version with the older style grips last year in excellent shape for around $400 after FFL fees on gunbroker last year. I wouldn't pay much more than that since you can get a new one around here for $500. I like the older grips with the wood inlays better than the newer rubber grips so I was happy with my purchase.

my latest one, a clean, used stainless one w/ 4" barrel made in 2006, is @ 90% to 95% and I paid $320

$400 is tops for a used one for me...I recently saw a private sale unfired NIB 4" at a gunshow priced at $450 firm...I passed by it half a dozen times and finally decided to buy it...As it goes, when I went back for it, it was gone.

Here in Western NC a used GP 4" has been going for $375-400 lately.

Just to let you know I paid 300 for .357 GP100 6" heavy barrel back in 1999 and love it. My teen daughter is a dead eye at 25 and closer and the wife likes to shoot the .38 special out of it. I wouldn't pay more than $350 if a lot of round have been shot through it.

I paid about $500 for this one, NIB a couple years ago. (Badger grips)

Now I see them for $750.

This is the strongest .357 I own, the trigger action is superb, as is the accuracy.
And I have several old Security Sixes, four N-frame .357 Smiths (three M-28s and an excellent M-27), a S&W 586 (the best trigger of any revolver we own), three S&W Model 19s, a Colt Trooper and 1968 model Python (well, the Python is actually my wife's) as sell as a Monford-made Dan Wesson.

I'll take this revolver above all others.

I think I only paid $500 for mine brand new. I wouldn't sell it now for that, but I also wouldn't pay much more than $425-$450 for any used one no matter what shape it was in.

I paid $315 for a new one about 18 years ago. I sold it in '97 and now wish I hadn't :banghead:

$400-450 is fair

This is about right for my area. $425 is the most I would offer on a 99%, low mileage used one.
