The guys are looking for more folks interested in getting a mold for the 50-70 bullet. Have a look, it will be a four cavity mold, custom made.

A four cavity mould is going to set you up for a lot of shooting with a .50-70.
A friend has a Sharps conversion carbine and my recoil tolerance is about proportional to a one cavity mould. Or even a half cavity. Maybe a quarter.

Jim Watson,

A four cavity also empties a pot fairly quickly, even a 20 pounder.

I shoot a 50-70 trapdoor and while I know when I pull the trigger, it doesn't wear me out. I believe the Sharps carbine to be a bit more punishing. When the troopers complianed of the recoil in th e45-70 carbine, the Armory came up with a carbine loaad, (45-55). A similar reduction of powder could benefit the 50-70 carbine.
