My local shop has a very clean used Freedom Arms 252 revolver for sale. This is the 10" silhouette version but it does not have a rear sight. Instead it sports a nice silver Leupold 4X scope. I know these are pricey revolvers. They are asking $1495 for the package, don't think they have the original rear sight but I could find one online for about $125.

Can I get an opinion on this price?:confused:

I intend to keep this as my preferred target pistol and take it to the grave with me.....something I have never considered....:o See, I am the buy it, shoot it, sell it type and I think the FA will be a keeper.

I had one, and sold it, for, IIRC, 1500 with no scope, just regular sites. I bought it for 1100.00.

The guy who got it emailed me back that out of a ransom rest, with the right ammo, it shot 1/4" at 50 yards.
That said, the cylinder was so tight it wouldn't take most of my ammo, sticking when I tried to load it.

I also used Paco Kelly's tool, and, a .223" bullet would barely load in this gun.

NOT a sloppy chambered gun.

Wish I'd just had the cylinder bored out a bit, and kept the gun.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen. I know that there are match cylinders available with the FA and it makes loading a bit more of a task. I have to check to see if this has a match cylinder or not. Also, I assume a regular bore cylinder could be purchased as an option too......

The guy that bought mine off gunbroker pointed out that they don't come up often, and, rarely for a decent price.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen one since I sold mine, but, I'm in ****, and, I haven't been looking.

I went another route, and bought a Stainless Ruger Single Six. No super tight chambers, and, if with Paco Kellys' accurizer, I should get the 22lr ammo to fill the over spec, 22 mag barrel. If that doesn't work, I'll put a quality barrel on it, and, for about 1000 bucks, have an accurate gun I like.

The FA 252 has a neat front site, but, I really didn't warm up to the huge barrel.
IIRC, check and see if that length barrel adds much velocity. I was always thinking about cutting the barrel down, and I can't remember why, I settled on about 7.5", same length as two of my big guns. Never got around to cutting it down.
