Hello

Finally, after lurking for literally years, I joined THR.

Here is my question. I have a 3913 9mm. I noticed something today that I had not noticed before and I cannot tell if it is normal.

When pulling the trigger in DA mode there is NO slop and barely any take up in the trigger. However, when I rack the slide and I have it cocked or after firing my first DA shot, there is a bit of play or even slop in the trigger. Is this normal and I just never noticed before? The pistol functions fine. It just reminds me of a 336 trigger with all its slop. Any ideas.

Thanks very much.

When you've racked the slide and the hammer is cocked, the trigger goes to its single-action mode. It will have quite a bit of takeup or slack before resistance is felt. This is normal, and typical of that kind of action.

That sounds familiar. My S&W 457 had heavy double action trigger pull and it only got worse after the first shot when the mechanism was in single action mode. I heard creepy sound when the trigger was pulled. I nixed that gun for something much better.
