My friend is a Michigan resident but we both co-op in Ohio for school. You have to "safety check" (register) handguns in Michigan but not Ohio. Can he buy a gun in Ohio and then later on bring it up to Michigan to register it?

Ukraine:
A Michigan resident can buy a longgun in Ohio but not a handgun. A handgun purchase from Ohio must go to an FFL holder in Michigan for him to buy it. And to get it form the FFL holder he will have to get a Permit to Purchase unless he is a CCW licensee.
