I'd make a Desert Eagle in .30 Carbine that would reliably feed like butter with the rimless case, and happliy give the ease of 'head shots' at 75+ yards with .357 mag performace. lighter with smaller grip&mag width, much smaller bolt face with easier extraction

BTW- I'd also modify the Mini 14 to accept tiny 8 round clips of .223 in an internal well, with full-ish length wood and a much longer sight radius using
M-14/Garand style sights. I'd call it the 'Baby Garand' and only sell about 10 million or so to states like CA with mag restrictions and never work again. If Springfield Armory was serious about making money they would design one from scratch that with a 18" barrel that would point like a lab on a phesant and be tossed in the back of every other pick-up round these parts for varmits.

I'd make Desert Eagles in any heavy handgun cartridge which would reliably cycle. .480, .454, .500 Linebaugh, .45 Win Mag, 10mm magnum, .475 Wildey, 50/454 AE, 50/475 AE(these would be the .50 AE case necked down appropriately).

I'd hire the world's best revolversmiths and gun designers to design a double-action revolver which could interchange cylinders like a single-action. First one would be a three cylinder 45 ACP/45 Colt/454 Casull.

And I'd revive the "howdah pistol" concept. The initial offering here would be a side by side 500 Maximum.
