Just received in the two Enfields I ordered a while back. Both are No 4 Mk 1*, both are dated 1943 and both are from the Long Branch Arsenal.

The first one is a thorough arsenal refinish with all new wood. Very nice gun but I prefer a bit darker wood, all else being equal. The guy at the gun store was like, 'Holy smokes! That's the nicest quality Enfield I've ever seen!' Guess he's never seen an arsenal refinish.

As I said, the next is also a 1943 Long Branch No 4 Mk 1*. It has one of those SK scope mounts. I put on my beloved Swarovski 6x42 sniper just to take the pics. I really want to get either the correct scope or one of those Wohler 2x17 scopes that have been on eBay and Gunbroker lately.

All my Enfields lined up in a row. These things are really addictive. With a little time and research, you can get really great quality pieces for very little cash.

The bottom rifle is my original Ishapore Model 2A.

Where's your No5Mk1 Jungle Carbine?

(Just kidding, but you oughta grab one while they're still available!)

Nice Enny's.

If you put a Dr. Wohler 2x scope on it, be aware they are 26mm tubes, and rings are impossible to find for them. You'll have to mill out a 1" ring to 26mm to fit the tube (so get a good, thick steel ring).

They also have a very short eye-relief, but if you pull back 2", you just lose a bit of your sight picture. They are rugged as heck and certainly "look the part".

Another great Enfield scope is the Lyman #3 or Alaskan, but they can be pricey if in good shape. Or, just blow your life's savings on a No32! :D
