I'd like to find original wooden grips for my '74 Mod. 36 (impossible I know) so I'd settle for replacements. I like the Pacs I have on it, but would like to see how it looks with the old wooden grips. Where would be the best place to find them?

Shouldn't be a problem getting original style grips for it. Of course THE originals won't show up. There's a lot of them on ebay. The prices are going up but magnas can be had for under $30.00.

Is that a round butt or square butt? Just asking out of curiosity, as I have an old square-butt 36, and it is hard to find after-market grips for it. Seems all they make these days are for the round-butt. :(

You can buy brand new ones on-line (J-Frame Square or Round Butt) directly from Smith & Wesson. ~ $32

Yes you can and if Chindo18Z didn't provide you with the link I would have. They are well made and "original" too.

Square butt 1974 in really nice shape. (except for a few scratches when I put my keys in the same pocket) Guess it's gonna be easier than I thought. Thanks all.

The new ones S&W sells are made out of Dymondwood plywood!
