Interesting site. Goes to show that political labels shouldn't be applied across the board. Stereotypes are dangerous.

It's hard to believe that there are intelligent liberals, but perhaps there really are a few.

Intelligent discourse of issues and firearms rights. While the board is a tad left of me I think it presents well organized and cogent arguments. Amazing, intelligent liberals. What will they think of next!

Giving in to generalizations is always dumb. There are some quite intelligent and articulate liberals. If you avoid the stereotypes, you might actually understand their arguments and be able to intelligently refute them.

Mindless conservatives are every bit as odious as mindless liberals.

Understanding others is far preferable to being simply dull.

In war, if you don't understand your enemy, you will be defeated far more easily.

You really can't equate a lack of common sense with a lack of intelligence. There are lots of people out there that I like to say, can split an atom but they can't make Kool-aid.

Bill Klinton may be one of the biggest left-wing dirtbags to ever live but the man is pretty darn smart.

A liberal is a liberal is a liberal! These are just liberals with a gun! That's a scary thought! :what:

My point was that folks aren't easily crammed into one category. On a number of issues, eg. the environment, I could easily be called a liberal. On others, eg. 2nd amendment, I'm decidedly conservative.

Paul Begala from "Crossfire" (formerly a Clinton staffer) constantly mentions that he's from Texas and owns guns. 'Course, that doesn't stop him from advocating "common sense" gun laws.

I know plenty of liberal types who own guns. They just think that the type of guns they own are the only type that anyone should be able to own.

You can't overgeneralize and pigeonhole people...well, you CAN, but it makes you look stupid. We all have some strong opinions on how we should be treated and/or just left to our own whims, and the Devil take the hindmost. I didn't vote for Dub-Ya, but I fully support most of what he and his administration has done.
I am SO pro-2nd, most "liberals" probably think I'm a Redneck...
DEMOCRAT wasn't always a dirty word...FDR did a lot of good things for his country. Not ALL Conservatives are good(David Duke)and you can't really believe all LIBERALS are Satan's Spawn. We should all try and be a little more understanding. BUT, when the Blissninnies of the world start in on the EVIL GUN thing, I say pistol-whip them....but with a Glock, so it won't leave any marks

Just my 1st Amendment right to self-Expression, I could be wrong.

That to me represents the most detestable type of liberal: The Limousine Liberal. They always have laws and rules for the unwashed masses (that would be you and me :cuss: ), but see themselves as an evolved species, enlightened, and more worthy than most of the citizenry. Pit-tooo-eee! geegee

I don't see that this guy necessarily thinks of himself as a modern liberal (= socialist), but as a classical one, if his opinions on gun control and economic freedom are any basis.

Check out the current debate going on over John Lott, whom this guy impeaches (same for Belleilses) for cooking his statistics. He seems very much in favor of free gun ownership, since his stated belief is that even so-called "reasonable" restrictions, which he might favor in an ideal world, are a slippery slope to be taken advantage of by antis.
