Here are a couple of Case's biggest folders.

The top one is a 4 3/8" Sunfish made in 1964 or 1965.
The bottom one is a 5 1/4" Folding Hunter made the same years.

I have had the Folding Hunter since about 1970 something.
The Sunfish was received as payment for some light gunsmithing work I did last week.

Cleaned active rust off them with a extra fine wire wheel on a buffer.
Hosed out the joints with WD-40 and 100 PSI air compressor.
They now Walk & Talk like they did when new.

And both are shaving sharp after all those years with just a couple of licks on a Crock Stick.

Brass or steel wire?

If it is something for your pocket, cool, but everyone should keep in mind that old knife collectors want the knives gently cleaned and usually freak out when any power tools or abrasives are used to clean up an old knife.

Ultra-fine steel wheel.
As used for carding blued finishes when they come out of the hot blue tank.
And the same one I use on old Winchester restorations.

It takes the rust all off and stops it, without removing all the patina or making them shiny again.

It is better then letting the deep rust continue to eat away the blades for future generations.

I picked these up for a good price and sent them to Case for repair, somebody had etched what looked like the last four numbers of their SSN.
No Charge from Case. Give them a call or email they answered mine the next day and see what they say.

is the sunfish similar to the Case Elephant Toe? ...Same thing.

The Official Case factory name was the Sunfish.
But collectors call them Elephant Toes, because for some strange reason, they started etching a elephant with his foot raised on the blade?

Seems a Sunfish might have been a more logical choice of animals?
