That is a good looking case. He has the touch...not everyone can do wood work. Did he sign it?

Family and friends are an important part of life.

I don't know if he signed or not. If so, it's probably hidden, knowing how he is.
I'll ask him today.
btw: the raised center of the lid is actually a separate piece and slightly loose.
Very unusual design feature, but he said it has a "Grecian motif".

I'm impressed with the lining.
It's tight and conforms to the interior wood.
Man has some serious talent
Enjoy your gift

That's a really nice case, for display purposes. However, don't store the gun in it long term. Felt linings like that attract moisture, and promote rust when in contact with metal. At least, grease the gun and wrap it in plastic when storing it in the case.

Alexander, I consulted with a guy who builds some of the best and most expensive cases in the business and he suggested that material.
Absolutely beautiful, a treasure too behold; just like your old Colt. Good
friends are extremely hard too find these days. As someone said earlier,
"your friend is extremely talented"; and his work shows it~! ;) :)
