Love at First Sight?

Am I the only one or has this happened to you? I have found that there are certain guns that from the first time I saw them I thought that there were one of the most beautifully designed objects I've seen, going beyond just comparing them to other guns. In shotguns it was the Winchester Model 12 and Model 21 that took my breath away. In pistols, while not very original, since I was little I knew the 1911 was an example of perfection. For rifles its always been a tie between the 1903 Springfield and the Mauser K98 although I think the most beautiful rifle is a Griffin and Howe Springfield. I guess I have a thing for simple beauty, but T like these guns and all guns when there is little to no engraving. So what guns did you fall in love with at first sight?

My Kahr E9 did that.
Dunno why, to be honest.

Id have to say that the 1911 did that to me. So did the Springfield M1A. But honestly most guns (except for ugly ones) do that to me. :)

Yes, the NAA Pug was love at first sight. Practical uses be damned.

Though it still does a fine job at close ranges on snakes and rats.

Kimber Crimson Carry! Love at first sight, but it took me two weeks and half a dozen visits before I finally opened my wallet and proposed.

P08 Luger, Smith & Wesson Model 15 Combat Masterpiece, Browning High-Power Renaissance, Beretta CX4 carbine, Henry rifle, the list goes on and on....

Certainly the Springfield Model 1903 would be at the top of my list for guns I loved at first sight. Same with the Colt Model 1860 and the Colt Single Action Army.

Colt Python -what else needs to be said ;-)

When I was 12-years-old and my grandfather pulled out his DWM M1900 Bulgarian contract Luger. I fell in love with it instantly.

An H&R Topper Deluxe Model 92. Black stocks and nickel receiver. It was in a small town hardware store. I saw it in July of 72 and purchased it with money I had saved and received for Christmas. I was 10 getting ready to turn 11.

H & R Model 999, with the vent-ribbed barrel. So pretty I just had to have it.

Remington 513T. That curvacious stock, that perfectly round little peep sight, the saucy front globe sight, the gentle swell of the bolt knob, the perfect tone of that parkerized finish, the glorious U.S. stamp on the barrel, it's as awesome as Raquel Welch wearing a flag!!!

Uhhh...I mean...I think it's a very nice looking rifle. ;)

I find "Love at first sight" is often used as a synonym for "impulse-purchasing".

1911 and as stated before, I'm not sure why. There are guns that are similiar, at least in my mind, but simply because they are not the 1911 I just don't feel the same. Maybe that's weird, in which case oh well as I can't change that about me.

Any Peacemaker-style full size single-action revolver in stainless finish. Such as a Ruger Super Blackhawk with wood grips and the Ruger logo on the top portion of the grip.

Just about anything on a 1911 platform.

Colt Python, 1911, Colt SAA, Springfield 1903, Swedish Mauser, 98K, Sophia Loren, Levers, many Levers.

The first one that did this for me was the Peacemaker. Then came most lever actions and the 1911. The only others that stand out to me are the M14 and the K98. I like the look of most revolvers but almost no autoloaders. On the ugly duckling side of things, there's just something about the KSG that makes it both awesome and ugly at the same time! (it's also the only bullpup gun I even remotely like!)

The Kel Tec KSG did it for me, and I haven't even seen one is person yet(obviously!). It just ticks all the right boxes for me. Innovative, unique, somewhat futuristic, "tactical", practical, great lines and balance in the design, it has it all. I knew I had to have one from that first picture.

The most beautiful firearms for me though are AKs, but that was hardly love at first sight. It took me years to develop my love for them. Now I don't understand how I didn't love them before.

ETA: Oh yeah, and the Ruger GP100 in stainless 6" guise stole my heart right away.
