I have seen very little about this gun. Does anyone have experience with it? It seems like a good value selling on line for $348 and supposedly meeting military requirements.

Sorry I haven't shot an OSS. I have a 24/7 Pro DS in 40 S&W. It has been 100% reliable through thousands of rounds. It is a great pistol. I'm sure the OSS is just as good.

I bought an OSS in .45ACP last November (2010). It has about 4000 rounds through it so far and it is flawless. I also own 4 other .45s of different makes and the OSS is my favorite.

I like my Taurus OSS .45. I don't put any stock what-so-ever in GUnblast reviews -- they loved the Chiappa 1911-22. Total piece of crap unless you want a pistol to practice clearing jams (a Jennings is cheaper).

Had mine about 4 months. Only about 500 rounds through it, but zero problems. Not a tack driver, but plenty accurate for a self defense pistol.
I have small to average size hands, and find the grip very comfortable for housing a magazine with 12 rounds of 45 ACP. I also like being able to put that 13th round in the chamber, and decocking it. I never felt good about keeping a round chambered in my Glocks by the bedside. This Taurus has taken the Glock's place on the nightstand.

Where are you finding it for $348? A friend at work wants one, and has been looking for a price break.

The guys who actually own them are right about the 24/7 OSS.

There are some links within the links (not that many)that need to be gone through.

Auction Arms has/had one for sale at $348, plus shipping and FFl fees which you have to pay anyway for any gun purchased on the internet. So I would end up with about $400 invested.

The OSS 45 ACP was my first non-1911 45 ACP in many years. I could not be happier with it. Great DA and SA trigger pull, accurate, reliable with full power loads, light loads not reliable. I had to take the sharp edge off the chamber edges so SWC's would feed 100% but I shoot mostly my 230 gr cast truncated cone style bullets. I also have small hands and find the grip works fine for me.

I picked it over all the other similar plastiguns - Glock, M&P, XD, etc. I'm very happy with it, and as you noted the price can't be beat.
