Tomcat47 May 21, 2011, 06:55 PM Hi Everyone....Although we have a few hours left!...It seems that the calculations were wrong again!
I say that is the way with Math! Sometimes the numbers get lost when you adding and carrying and dividing and all!
But I am happy as of now....for below is a picture of Todays...
End of World Weekend Purchase!
The wife bought into it anyway! :) Even went to dealer with me!
Ruger GP100 .357.... Nice! Hey! This is pic from web of gun like todays purchase.

KingMedicine May 21, 2011, 07:15 PM I actually sold a gun... One of my Browning Highpower MKIII's, but i still have plenty for Rapture
joeq May 21, 2011, 07:21 PM Why buy a gun? I figured if the rapture actually happened I would just go and round up all the free guns I wanted. What a surprise, it didn't happen.
BIGGBAY90 May 21, 2011, 07:22 PM ---no end of world---gun wouldn't help anyway
doubleh May 21, 2011, 07:27 PM Nice shooter. I didn't buy a gun but I bought some Ruger scope rings.
Tomcat47 May 21, 2011, 07:33 PM Cool! Supplies should count too! :)
I had been wanting one of these for a while, and got a good deal locally.
I would still like the 6" version, but this will fit a present need.
I looked at an SP101 but they wanted more for it than the GP100!
Larry Ashcraft May 21, 2011, 07:34 PM Went to an auction that advertised a bunch of guns today, but I'm too much of a cheapskate to pay auction prices ($400 for a well used, and scratched, Henry Golden Boy?) The one bargain was a WWII era Model 94 30 WCF in about 95% condition that went for $575. Nice gun at a good price, but not something I really need or want.
I did pick up some ammo though.
kimbershot May 21, 2011, 07:35 PM no, bought 3 when obama got elected. ar/hd shotgun and a 1911:D
kingcheese May 21, 2011, 08:09 PM i baught a gun, but i didnt know the world was suppose to end
oldbear May 21, 2011, 08:18 PM No, why would I if the world is going to end before I can shoot it?:what: Nice Ruger you got though.
M-Cameron May 21, 2011, 08:18 PM no, bought 3 when obama got elected. ar/hd shotgun and a 1911
that says something about obama when people will run out and buy guns when he got elected...........but not when the end of the world was supposed to happen... :D
talldragon May 21, 2011, 08:56 PM Still waiting for the End of the World on the West Coast here...:what:  ;)  :)
smurfman May 21, 2011, 08:59 PM I bought a couple of guns. The first was an Inland M1 Carbine with barrel markings for 9 of 1944. It looks to be fully original based on the sources I have but I am certainly no expert. That gun will go in on Tuesday for an evaluation. The other gun was a Winchester 1876 in 45/60. Serial number says made in 1881 and it is either a late Second Model or an early Third. I saw it for sale at a garage sale 3-4 weeks ago but could not swing the funds then. I stopped by a couple of times once I scrounged up the cash but no one was home. Last night they had another sale and the gun was still there. He knocked a couple hundred off the price and I grabbed it quick. It is in good shape and as soon as I get the OK from the gunsmith, I'll make up some loads and shoot it. It may not be a Rapture gun but it is one I really like.
Sig88 May 21, 2011, 09:26 PM No I did not. One of the times it didn't even cross my mind.
tyeo098 May 21, 2011, 09:39 PM I built a coil-gun in my basement to prepare.
Some say a magnetically energised projectile is capable of penetrating the light of a soul(AT Field anyone?). Ya know... just in case they tried to take me.
Looks like crap but is "dangerous" within 10ft
captain awesome May 21, 2011, 09:55 PM no but i had a massive steak dinner at outback steak house. Figured it probably wasn't going to happen, but just in case i wanted my last earthly meal to be a good one.
earlthegoat2 May 21, 2011, 10:09 PM Heck no. I bought pikes. The Four Horsemen dont stand a chance against pikes.
Really though, I do know what the Four Horsemen are. Parochial high school....
Romeo 33 Delta May 21, 2011, 10:15 PM Even better, I bought some reloading components for some distant, future needs. Besides, I just passed my annual physical on Friday ... so I ain't goin' anywhere just yet!
Tomcat47 May 21, 2011, 10:17 PM kimbershot no, bought 3 when obama got elected. ar/hd shotgun and a 1911
I thought we all did this?
talldragon Still waiting for the End of the World on the West Coast here...
Its after ten here on east coast....I think they missed again!
kingcheese i baught a gun, but i didnt know the world was suppose to end
Cool, What did you get? I just used it for a reason!...works with the wife pretty good too!:D
oldbear No, why would I if the world is going to end before I can shoot it?
Aw! I feel certain markmanship and the hobby lasts past this world! :)
Sig88 No I did not. One of the times it didn't even cross my mind.
Any reason will do for me! Wife says Hon...do we have enough guns? I always say no ...not really...we could use a _________ (fill in the blank).."well lets go look at them then! OK :D
tyeo098 I built a coil-gun in my basement to prepare.
I ran out of wire! :cuss: So I went to get some and ended up at the Gun Shop!
captain awesome no but i had a massive steak dinner at outback steak house.
:banghead: Dang and I had PIZZA......aaarrrrggggh!
Great post !
and no man knows the time! :)
Ole Coot May 21, 2011, 11:11 PM This is really sad. I forgot the world was gonna end and got out early to clean the gutters and put up gutter guard. If I had remembered I could have done a bunch of fun things.
hso May 21, 2011, 11:17 PM I say that is the way with Math!
No, just the quality of the people doing it.
No guns for me today.
gearhead May 21, 2011, 11:32 PM I woke up early this morning and bought a set of tires for one of the cars. I would have been highly annoyed if the world had ended right after buying new tires...
Spike Jim May 22, 2011, 01:04 AM Well, I bought a Kahr CW 45 today for concealed carry. My Glock 21 seemed a little large, and the Kahr shoots real nice! I'm happy!
12131 May 22, 2011, 04:52 AM I just swapped handguards around on my ARs, making them "new". Does that count?
clutch May 22, 2011, 05:09 AM I went to work so I could continue to afford gun stuff.
Clutch
The Lone Haranguer May 22, 2011, 07:39 AM If I want to buy a gun, I don't make ridiculous excuses to justify it.
hardluk1 May 22, 2011, 08:08 AM Sold and older carry pistol and bought a new one
kingcheese May 22, 2011, 09:43 AM i got a mossberg 817, and put a decent little scope on it, 4-16x40mm
firemanstrickland May 22, 2011, 09:52 AM no man knows the time. Ill second that.
no guns for me, and i personaly wouldnt run out and buy one, if the rapture happens i wont be around to enjoy it :D.
Ala Dan May 22, 2011, 10:36 AM NOPE, I'm ready for the end too come at any time~! I don't think guns
will do you any good, when that day and time arrives. GOD is great, he will
look out for all those who believe~! :)
22-rimfire May 22, 2011, 10:40 AM Not me either. The thought never crossed my mind. Maybe if I did, I could sue that guy for the cost of the gun that I bought in preparation for his doomsday event. People shouldn't say stuff like this unless they are willing to accept the consequences.
hardluk1 May 22, 2011, 10:48 AM I did not know yesterday was the end of the world till last night. just another nut case claiming the end is near. Oopps still here. Guess we are all ok till the next nut case tells us the end is near.
straybullet May 22, 2011, 11:59 AM I bought an old Chinese SKS 56 on Saturday and the guy selling it asked me if I wanted it because of the rapture, stating that he himself bought the rifle right before Y2K, lol.
MICHAEL T May 22, 2011, 12:20 PM I put one on layaway
LiquidTension May 22, 2011, 01:07 PM No, but I did load a bunch of magazines. I was hoping the end would come in the form of zombies.
USAF_Vet May 22, 2011, 04:01 PM I did buy a gun on Friday, but not because the end was nigh. Hi Point JHP .45 pistol.
JR47 May 22, 2011, 04:22 PM I bought an older, steel-framed Para-Ordnance P12 Friday evening. The "end of the world" mattered less than the simple fact that I'd been looking for one for a while now, and the price and condition were right.
As this is Sunday afternoon, I'm guessing that I'll be able to enjoy it until the end of the world as described in the Mayan calendar in December, 2012.:D
Sebastian the Ibis May 22, 2011, 04:27 PM no man knows the time.
I disagree, I went to a wedding yesterday. He knew his time was up.
To answer your question, No. Although, I did call the gunstore to see if they had any trade in 870's in stock that I could pick up this week.
Justin Holder May 22, 2011, 07:18 PM I bought this and a brick of ammo, after all you never know. :D
http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad319/justin10mm/004-2.jpg
karateclarinet May 22, 2011, 08:23 PM I bought a RIA 1911 CS last weekend, and spent most of the day yesterday shooting it and a few other firearms with great friends. :) I figured that I might as well spend the day doing something that I enjoy.
GrimCPT May 22, 2011, 08:24 PM nope, but went plinking with some friends.
mgmorden May 22, 2011, 08:27 PM Sold one, bought one.
Had a CZ 712 shotgun that had always given me trouble. Took a heavy loss on that one, but I got rid of it this Friday.
Then yesterday while browsing at another pawn shop I saw a Rossi single shot .270 Win/20 ga combo for sale. I don't know if they just wanted to get rid of it or if it was mismarked, but it was marked $80. Now I don't need it - I've already got a nice Winchester Mod 70 .270 (and a Rossi in .308), but the price was certainly too good to pass up. My brother has been yearning for something with a bit more reach than his .30-30, and his birthday is in a month, so I snagged it as a birthday gift for him.
JW2 May 22, 2011, 08:58 PM I did actually... bought a Sig SP2022 on sale for $350
leadcounsel May 22, 2011, 09:17 PM Yes, but it had nothing to do with that crackpot. Just bought due to good timing and price.
azmjs May 24, 2011, 12:24 AM I went to a Rammstein concert :D
wacki May 24, 2011, 02:29 AM yes, bought 3 when obama got elected. ar/hd shotgun and a 1911
Fixed your post. :-)
critter May 24, 2011, 06:30 AM It was coincidental to the 'rupture weekend', but I bought a S&W N-frame .44 Mag (a PRE-29) built in 1956 or 7 in 95% shape! Happy me!
HGUNHNTR May 24, 2011, 01:42 PM no but i had a massive steak dinner at outback steak house. Figured it probably wasn't going to happen, but just in case i wanted my last earthly meal to be a good one.
So you went to a chain resturaunt?:neener::D
FROGO207 May 25, 2011, 12:09 AM So I pulled On Call duty and figured I would load ammo until something happened. Well I ran out of boolits before anything else happened and went to bed digesting the prices and deals that I needed to figure out to place an order for more the next day. :D
pockets May 25, 2011, 08:19 AM I bought a 'spiritual gun' on May 21st....
I'll buy a 'physical gun' on October 21st.... ;)
Jonah71 May 25, 2011, 09:31 AM It passed without me even knowing about it. Not good for a preacher. At least when it does happen I'll regain the sight in my right eye. But if I reach for my gun and all I have is the old Jennings .22 I sold to a "friend" years ago.........I'll know I'm in the wrong place.
dirtykid May 25, 2011, 09:56 PM I gues we have until 10/10/11 now so NO PRESSURE !! (Please dont tell my wife),, No new guns today, but i got my eye on a few !
Imperial Guardsman May 25, 2011, 10:04 PM I picked up a Schmidt Rubin 96/11 at a gun show on "our last day." No one seemed to be thinking about our supposed mortal peril. Needless to say, it was a pretty good day.
glock36 May 25, 2011, 10:06 PM Not a gun but I did buy a Sturdy Safe to keep them comfortable in. That should count
Ignition Override May 25, 2011, 10:25 PM No. I sold the Mini 30 a few weeks ago.
Were the scalpers offering the same good deals they offered after the election in '08?
These must be really hungry times for some scalpers.
JTHunter May 25, 2011, 10:46 PM Why buy more? I have all I need (for now).
;)
Heretic May 25, 2011, 11:46 PM I wonder if they have a body scanner in front of the pearly gates?
mossberg835 May 26, 2011, 09:26 PM As to the original question: No, I already have a gun for the end of the world
HOOfan_1 May 27, 2011, 02:12 PM I bought one May 17th, close enough I suppose. Only my third purchase, as I inherited most of my other guns
glove May 27, 2011, 07:35 PM No. I bought a couple of 6 packs.:D
Nowhere Man May 27, 2011, 08:15 PM I did!! By accident. Really!
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y220/sharksnufr/ColtCommander003.jpg
CharlieSW May 28, 2011, 01:26 AM LOL -- I actually did order a Kahr CM9093 from Bud's last weekend and it arrived at the friendly FFL on Thursday. Wouldn't I have been surprised if the world had really ended!
parsimonious_instead May 28, 2011, 10:23 AM Nope... was on an airplane returning from a cruise. Actually in the air at 6:00pm EST, when the Rapture was supposed to unfold.
"At 38,00 feet" I mused "I'll probably be the first into Heaven or the last into Hell"
(To keep this post somewhat gun related, I edited together a video of the cruise, with an intro featuring a tracking shot of every cartridge I own)
skoro May 28, 2011, 02:35 PM no but i had a massive steak dinner at outback steak house. Figured it probably wasn't going to happen, but just in case i wanted my last earthly meal to be a good one.
We were thinking the same way. I had shrimp creole at a nice place in Houston.
