Gen4 Glock Firing Pin Spring Question

I have a question about the glock gen 4 firing pin (striker) spring. I attended glock armorers training several years ago (before the age of gen 4). I recently aquired a couple gen 4's. After recently cleaning the G22 gen 4 and for fear that some CLP had entered the firing pin chamber I stripped the slide. After disassembling the firing pin I noticed that each end of the firing pin spring is different. One end of the spring looks as though the coils are attached for several "turns" (gaps between the coils are sealed together) - this is how i remember the old firing pin springs being on both ends of the gen 3's. The other end of the spring simply ends in a single coil (hope that makes sense). Being extremely OCD about such things I began to wonder which end of the spring holds the spring cups on the firing pin. I searched through my armorers manual and found no helpful information. I replaced the cups with the "sealed" or coil-connected end of the spring. My question is does anyone have any experience with this? Have the springs changed or is my memory failing me? Lastly, which end of the spring holds the damn cups on the pin, the connected end or the end that terminates in a single turn? I appreciate the help guys!

The springs are the same. The end with the most coils goes around the cups.

If you want to get super OCD, align the end of the spring with the gap in the cups like this:

Wrong way.

Right way.

From the Glock Armorers Manual Addendum:
"Firing Pin Spring...the end with the most coils goes toward the spring cups"

This is in the parts order form.

I have no in depth technical knowledge of the HS2000 (XD.) Sorry.

There are many here that do however.
