I really really really hate you right now! Of course Ill get over it, but Ill hate you more later also :D

Shoot well.

January 14, 2004, 11:32 PM
Oooh , we're posting 1911 porn again?

I have two real 1911s and two wannabes.

Smith revos and 1911s? I love your taste in guns Mr. Shear!

Please excuse my poor taste in reloading bench covers!

January 14, 2004, 11:44 PM
HA! On that light weight Officers , which I assume is NP3 , I notice your using a low safety. I too have found the low safety to work well on the shortened grip officers model. What did he do to the front strap? What are the sights?:)

January 15, 2004, 12:00 AM
Nice stable of 1911s. Have you got a favorite?

January 15, 2004, 12:17 AM
1911 porn again?..........gotta love it. :D

Albert Shear
January 15, 2004, 06:30 AM
Ah Kruzr! We meet again my friend.
Gordon, yes I like the low safety as I shoot thumbs fowrward and straight.
The frontstrap is a somewhat high but not course stipple with a beautifull straight edge border. The sights are P-T bar-bot nite sites.

January 15, 2004, 08:48 AM
I really really really hate you right now! Of course Ill get over it, but Ill hate you more later also

Did you get that Kruzr?! Same goes for you and your Fancy Schmancy Ed Brown.

Of course I'm both kidding and extremely jealous. :neener: The bobtail Ed Browns are (IMO) the sexiest 1911's yet. One of these days...

January 15, 2004, 11:09 AM
This is the only pic I have a the moment. I gotta a couple of more guns around here somewhere....:)

January 15, 2004, 11:18 AM
Smith revos and 1911s? I love your taste in guns Mr. Shear!

Well, THAT sure isn't stock. Who did the work?

January 15, 2004, 03:29 PM
Why Ted Yost of course. :D

Sean Smith
January 15, 2004, 03:50 PM
Ted WHO? :D

The trick Heinie installation he did on your gun kind of gave it away. ;)

January 15, 2004, 04:04 PM
LOL, yep. I had my other guns out last night, couple colts, couple Kimbers pre-S2 and this springfield has a completely different feel. I think it's a combo of the short trigger, flat MSH, and trimmed thumbsafety. It's just liek a well fitted glove. Accuracy? Frightening. Hole into hole at 50ft and 75 yards it's fist size. (Match bushing and recrown factory barrel.):what:

January 15, 2004, 10:21 PM
I LOVE 1911 gun porn! (

January 15, 2004, 11:04 PM
I've never caught the 1911 bug, one of you guys needs to give me one, so I can see what all the excitment is all about!

January 16, 2004, 09:29 PM
Forget it Brigrat, you can go broke like the rest of us!:D

January 16, 2004, 10:09 PM
Forget it Brigrat, you can go broke like the rest of us!

Now if there wasn't a more truthful statement.

Since last Saturday, I've bought two 1911's. First is a Pre-Series II Kimber Custom. Second, was an impulse buy, a SA loaded gun that has been hard chromed and had a set of Crimson Trace laser grips. In three days I spent $1100.

Now I'm on a mission to get a 10mm 1911.

January 17, 2004, 07:30 AM
Well, THAT sure isn't stock.

That just may be the understatement of the year.

Oh, wait a sec. That was in response to Trigger's pic and not Master Blaster's pic, wasn't it?

January 17, 2004, 12:16 PM

Freshly shot. Has not been cleaned yet. I just came home from the range:D :D

January 17, 2004, 06:16 PM
Every time I look at one of these threads I end up with more 1911's.

This is getting expensive.

Is there an anti-dote?

I'm new at the writing part of this. If I can ever figure out the mechanics I'll add some photos of my own.

January 17, 2004, 06:20 PM
Is there an anti-dote?
Not that I'm aware of. There is a support group though at

January 17, 2004, 10:19 PM
How about another one! (

January 17, 2004, 11:40 PM
I'm envious, guys! Makes my mostly stock 1911's (.38 Supers & .45's) look plain. However, when I figure out how, I'll post some pictures anyway. ;)

January 18, 2004, 12:19 AM
I need to get another digital camera, but here are my two cents:

January 18, 2004, 10:57 AM
Here's my one and, for now, only 1911. DW Razorback. I need to figure out how to get a decent pic of this thing. With the flash I get that horrible glare but without the flash I get a grainy, fuzzy pic. If anyone can help me with this please PM. Thanks.

January 18, 2004, 11:06 AM
OK, let's try this again.

January 18, 2004, 11:52 AM
Just got my Champion back last week; was at SA Custom Shop, getting front strap stippled and Armory Coated. It's shown in my favorite holster, a Tucker HF2

January 18, 2004, 01:33 PM
Ok guys, here we go again!!!!

January 22, 2004, 07:49 AM
Smoke, I see you have a 1911 with ivory grips and what appears to be the Lone Star in it. Who makes those? They are great.

January 22, 2004, 09:00 AM
Billmanweh, that is one fantastic 1911 collection!:what:

January 22, 2004, 10:48 AM

Hey John Forsyth . . . . . . What is the exact model of the bottom Colt pic?? Is that customized or stock or what?

Thanks! :D

John Forsyth
January 22, 2004, 12:11 PM
Gary, the model number is O4860XSE. It is not factory stock. The following has been done to it:

Removed front slide serrations, grind flush to end of slide
Bevel slide
Novak sites front and rear
Casul short trigger
Wilson Combat grip safety
Chip McCormick thumb safety

It runs and is a joy to carry at 25oz. empty.

Gary in Pennsylvania
January 22, 2004, 12:15 PM
Fabulous! IRemoving those front slide serratios REALLY sets it apart from others! Is that a factory finish? Sharp looking shooter!

John Forsyth
January 22, 2004, 12:18 PM
That is the factory finish. Thanks for the kind words.

January 22, 2004, 02:57 PM
John, who did the work?

John Forsyth
January 22, 2004, 03:09 PM
John Harrison, Precision Gunworks.

January 22, 2004, 03:27 PM
I must be spending too much time on the boards. When I saw that, I thought it looked like Mr. Harrison's work. I've got to get something down to him.

January 22, 2004, 05:48 PM
Billmanweh, that is one fantastic 1911 collection!

When I see something I like I tend to download the picture. So when I do get around to having my own built I'll have a better idea of what I like. I guess those pictures reflect what I would have made for myself.

I'll have to take a few mediocre pictures of what I do have and post them...

January 22, 2004, 07:47 PM
I'm going to need more klenex. :D

January 22, 2004, 08:28 PM
Yeah...or maybe a towel:D

My turn, It started out as a Mil-spec.

The Gun is much nicer in person than in the pic. (I think everyone that can't take a good pic says this)

January 23, 2004, 10:37 AM
You guys are killing me. I have more 1911s than I know what to do with and I still want more. I think I need one with a light rail now.

January 23, 2004, 10:54 AM
Litman252, nice gun! Who did the work?

January 23, 2004, 07:16 PM
Thank you Trigger. A man down in Arizona, Chuck Rogers (

Series 70 Government Model by Heinie (

January 24, 2004, 07:21 PM
is that the Heinie that was for sale on the boards here?

January 24, 2004, 10:13 PM
But somebody stole the triggerguard off MasterBlaster's engraved and inletted 1911! :what:

Is that something based on the old "Fitz Special" .45 revolvers? There's a story to be told, I'm certain!

Oh, yeah, 1911 porn. How could I not contribute? ;)

January 24, 2004, 10:26 PM
is that the Heinie that was for sale on the boards here?

Yes it is! I changed the grips but other than that, it's the same.

January 25, 2004, 12:38 AM
