Have had my new Sig P238 Nitron with Rosewood grips for about 10 days. Shot a handful of rounds the day I picked it up but today I was able to send 200 rounds of Remington FMJ, 200 wwb, 20 Win pdx1 and 20 PowerBall down range.

The Sig was really comfortable to shoot, very accurate (2-3" groups from 7 yds-even hitting bulls @ 15 yds) and most important...had zero feeding/jamming issues which dogged me with the Kahr.

My plan is to continue to experiment with SD ammo until I find the right cocktail. Have read 2 Gold Dots followed by 4 FMJ Buffalo Bore makes a nice mag. Going to give that a try.

Over all happy and confident to carry this as a BUG once I sort out ammo.

Thanks for the report. I'm looking for a BUG for pocket carry and I don't want to settle on LCP. I like the Kahr a lot... good trigger, decent sights. I just read too much about reliability issues. I rented one, really liked how it shot, but I had 3 FTE and 1 FTF out if 100 rounds. WAY too many.
I have not shot the Sig yet. How do you think it compares to the Kahr. I understand the differences, I'm just looking for your opinion. How much larger is the Sig? Can you pocket carry it? If it weren't for the Kahr's reliability issues, which would you choose and why.
Don't mean to hijack your thread but I need help making a decision.
Thanks.

Congrats on the P238, it's a really nice pistol and fun to shoot. I have had some FTE issues with mine, but I love it anyway. I'm also going to keep messing with different loads to find the right combo. Next up are the Gold Dots.

I have both the Kahr and the Sig, and to me the Sig is easier to shoot and more accurate, probably due to the excellent sights. It's also bigger than the Kahr. The P238 comes with a nice little Kydex holster, which I lke more than I thought I would. It is a belt slide type, which I think the P238 is better suited for, as opposed to pocket carry.

The P380 is also a comfortable shooter, and IMO it's flatter profile makes it a better pocket carry option. The sights are more basic, but they work.

Both are good options, but I tend to go with the Kahr for daily use because it's light and flat, and if I'm not using my Rohrbaugh.

Good questions Strmday:

1. As far as how the Sig shoots compared to the Kahr, the Sig is significantly

more comfortable. After 100 rounds, my hand was throbbing with the P380. Today, for the second
day in a row, I shot another 300 rounds through the Sig plus 300 through my Glocks. 2 1/2 hour range session.

2. The Sig is slightly larger, I have been easily carrying it in jeans (not baggy ones) and shorts with plenty of room. Even carried it in an inside sport coat pocket with lots of extra room. I am not really big, 5'8 175 and the Sig ( as well as the Kahr fit very well)

3. When I chose the Kahr, I was aware of the issues with the gun (as there have been with some mostly earlier Sigs). I never looked at the Sig when I was initially evaluating .380's. When I was having my troubles, the manager of the range where I shoot let me shoot 100 rounds through his P238 (on him). The differences for me in terms of comfort, accuracy and lack of feeding/jamming issues were enough that I traded my Kahr after those 100 rounds.

I would consider another caliber of Kahr in the future, I think they make good guns in general. But my first experience was not great. Conversely, my first experience with a Sig has been positive.

Post note. Shot some SD rounds today from the sig @ the range. Strictly from an accuracy standpoint from 7 yds ( most to least accurate, ballistics out the door)

1. Hornady CD 90 gr hp
2. Gold Dot 90 gr hp
3. Remington Ult. Self Defense 102 gr hp
4. PowerBall 70 gr (toughest by far to get accurate)

Waiting on an assortment of Buffalo Bore .380 ammo to try out next week.

Memorial to those.
