Which ones do you recommend?

I split my time between here (obviously) the Saiga 12 forums, and the XDtalk forums.

the Firingline... even though they've thrown me off twice for speaking the truth.

I don't currently subscribe there, but I have been banned twice as well. They seem to disagree that the 4th amendment is just as important as the second amendment is. As well as defensivecarry.com. I've gotten the boot there for daring to suggest not complying with an officer's requests if they violate the 4th amendment.

I tend to read the blackpowder forum at The Firing Line.

I spend a lot of time at The Liberal Gun Club Forum (http://www.theliberalgunclub.com/phpBB3/).

Cast Boolits (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/) is a good place for lead casters (which I don't do - yet.)

And I browse the 1911 Forum (http://forum.1911forum.com/).

I had almost given up on gun forums when I found this one. There is so much macho chest thumping, mall ninja wanna bees, zombie stupidity, grumpy old farts with zero tolerance, trolls, and idiotic caliber wars on other forums, I figured most gun owners on the net needed their heads examined.

This seems to be a place of intelligent conversation for the most part. If it degrades to elementary school childishness, the mods whack it in short order.

Defensive carry comes close, but there are way too many guys who feel the need to carry 5 guns just to go to the bathroom and have an AK in their trunk with 3 spam cans to go to wal mart. This on it's own is their right and I fully support them, but it seems that they can't just butt out and allow a conversation to occur about anything they consider "junk" or a "mousegun". It may be their right to have a Glock 22 on their hip with three reloads, a .357 on their ankle, and a bowie tucked in back, but it is also my right to carry a Raven .25 if I choose (I don't). I don't think they get that.

One forum won't even allow discussion of substandard garbage (sarcasm) like P-3at and LCP. I got banned from that one for flaming a guy who called me a moron with a death wish for carrying my favorite low capacity mousegun.. a G26...:scrutiny:

I won't even give that forum's name for fear they may get a free click out of it.:neener:

THR seems to be a place for the adult, mature, gun enthusiast. This is the only one I still visit.

XDTalk, even though I no longer have an XDm (low and behold, I found I prefer Glocks)

GlockTalk...I never post and I have it blocked on my nanny filter. The 12 year old is easily influenced by forums and GT needs more moderation and less BS. Plus the website is just plain ugly and doesn't have the friendliest navigation...nor the friendliest people.

I have accounts with or lurked on TFL, bersachat, Colorado carry, Shotgunworld, rimfirecentral and defensive carry as I was looking for a place to spend time. They either had too specific a focus, didn’t have enough traffic for interesting threads or had threads which might be a little too “interesting”.

THR has a good mix of threads and I’ve yet to see a thread devolve into complete chaos. I hardly ever go to any of the above unless I’m looking for specific info I think I can only find there; which doesn’t happen too often.
