Does the receiver have "silver" sides with engraving or is it all black? Vent rib? If you put the stock butt on the floor and push downward on the barrel, does the barrel move towards the receiver or is it stationary?
Guessing you have a model 300 or 900, just trying to find out if it is gas operated or recoil operated.

With a black receiver and gas operated, you have a XL300, but I was not aware of the 300 having a vent rib. Take the forearm off - unscrew the big cap in front of the forearm, then slide the forearm towards the muzzle. Check for a screw head on the right hand side between the barrel and the magazine tube. If it is gas operated, there should be a screw head that is the selector switch for light and heavy loads.
Don't know what the gun is worth, but I bought a XL900 - the deluxe version of yours - a few years ago, in excellent condition for $250.

SKB made the shotguns for Ithaca, except the M37.

I tink mebe u rite. Sakaba did make the shotguns, Ithaca sold the shotguns.
I have not seen very many in 20 gauge,I think all I've ever encountered were 12 gauges, I would go as high as $350, for a 20 in excellent shape.
What could you buy new, of comparable quality, for less than $500?
