meh. unsubscribed from him a while ago. he rambles on for 3/4 of his vids, offering nothing more than basic features about the new gun he's shooting. then he shoots steel for the last part.

nothing against the guy, i just don't have anything to gain from watching his vids. :)

i like tennesseeoutdoors9's jhp expansion tests, especialy now that he's invested in SIM-test gel.

With as many gun reviews as this guy does, it's surprising that he doesn't own a Ransom Rest. Blasting steel targets says little about a guns accuracy. His review of the SR1911 was lost on me when he blamed it's malfunction on Federal factory ammo.

In some ways, I like his videos and, but in other ways, I would equate them to something that a teenager would think to do with a firearm. I.E. Shooting hundreds of rounds into a cinder block wall that has cherry soda inside it. He is a very skilled shooter though.

At 56, I'll tell you for sure that I have some of that teenager in me. Fun is fun even if it doesn't equate to anything but just fun.

If I had a backyard like that, my videos would look a lot more simple and fun too!

Some of us get bored punching holes in paper all day. :neener:

My goal is to become a better shooter, but if it becomes a dull ordeal I won't shoot as often. My latest cure for boredom? One of these:

The kids like to see who can knock it out the farthest with one mag in the buckmark.

I dedicate a number of rounds to running drills, then I settle in and have some fun. Shooting that little ball as fast as you can get on target is pretty good practice while having fun...especially if you try to shoot it while you are moving at the same time. :)

Would you rather see him wearing camo and shooting B-27 targets?

WOW! Do you think my XD can do that?

Waste of perfectly good ammunition...

I think hitting a steel target from 80 yds with a Kahr PM9 says a lot about accuracy. I enjoy his vids and his demeanor. He enjoys shooting for all the right reasons.

I rarely shoot paper either. Car doors, windshields, empty propane tanks, cinder blocks, 55 gallon drums, etc. Don't feel I'm wasting ammo at all. Can hit 16 oz. water bottles up to 50 ft. or so at will with every pistol and revolver in my safe. Paper got boring a decade ago for me.

What does this mean? How do you know your "XD can do that", unless you too have wasted "perfectly good ammunition"...........

I think Hickoc45's goal is just to put some rounds through the gun to further check reliability.

Hickok is typically all about just fun shooting. It's not about gauging a measured group, or doing a thorough measured and scientific comparison between various models - he's basically just about taking the gun out to "the compound" and blasting away to have fun.

And truthfully, in a defensive and "tactical" situation, being able to quickly peg lots of steel targets at varied distances means a lot more than being able to measure a small group on paper.
