You linked to another forum that requires membership just to read the thread.
Since I'm not a member of that forum, I have no idea what your talking about.
Group buy on some vests?

OOPS...sorry....
Didn't think that through I guess
The gang at Lightfighter is getting together a group buy on RR 5.11 vests.
They are a "right-hand" version in that the lower pockets are reversed so that you can have carbine mags on the left side for easy reloads...
Same low price of 49.00 ea.( XXl and XXXL are 54.00)
Call 1-800-639-5938 and specify you want the "special" left hand version

Khaki only.
Lightfighter had 100 people say they would buy one if there were 100 pre-ordered. They have since only gotten 30 something orders in the last 4 months...
C'mon guys, if you said you would get one, do it!

Just for the record, I have one (the normal one, not a special handed one), and I love it. It is usefull at work and at play. good for hot whether too, if you like to pack a full size CCW piece.

They are only making this model in Khaki
LF has commited to buying 50 if we get orders for 50
But a lot more committed than showed up with the money!

This fixes the one problem with this vest. Surely there are more right handed shooters who need one?

Is there any way to get one set up like that in black. I already have one of the khaki ones and would like to get a black one. If you can then I am in for one.

Uncle Jeff, the cool kids my age don't wear vests any more. Me like frying below the radar; the vest would get me too much attention :)
But I draw the line at Abercrombie and Fitch :barf:

As for black, I can only suggest dye..or living with the standard vest.

This re-done vest swiches the bottom pockets making the large pockets wich can hold M4 mags on the left instead of the right. If your rifle is your primary weapon, this swich is very useful. If you are using this vest for simple CCW, then the pistol mag pouch on the left is better, as you pistol is your primary. I use my 5.11 when I am carrying a pistol only, as it works great. When I am on duty and my AR is my primary, this vest doesn't work for me being right handed as the AR mag pouches are on my strong side. This re-done vest is the answer to half of the problem. But I still like the orignional better, as I am usually in uniform when I have a rifle, so I am not wearing a 5.11 anyways. I wouldn't mind having one of each though. I hope this makes sense.

What really bugged me about the vest was the breast pockets with no retention. having your wallet/ID/cellphone drop in the toilet when leaning over to flush is highly untactical.

I have one and love mine, if I remember correctly I paid 54.95 off the shelf at Red Dog. The Quality appears to be excellent, I expect mine to last for years with casual use. So go4it, sounds like a good deal...

Any tall people have experience with these things? Are they long enough for someone 6'3"?

I'm 6'2, and it is long enough for me to conceal a Ruger P95 or G22 in a high ride hip holster. So I guess the answer is yes.

The phone number is in my second post...third one from the top.
The list is no more...you need to place an order.
We had lots of people on the "list"...but they evaporated once LF started taking orders.
They are supposed to ship within 90 days of getting our 50 commited

I have two of these vests. One is Khaki and the other one is black. These are excellent vests.I wear mine year round.I have no problem concealing large frame 41 and 357 magnum revolvers with barrel lengths up to 5 inches. These vests are plenty long enough to conceal full size guns.
