Reminton 700 Question

I have a question for you Remington 700 experts. I have a matte heavy barreled 22-250 with a serial number G634XXXX. I am assuming a BDL since it has a floorplate and the flat spring magazine AFAIK all CDLs are gloss and ADLs do not have a floorplate. If I am wrong please feel free to correct any mistakes.

In researching the year of manufacture, my only recent choices are 1986 and 2012. Also, the G does not correspond to any of the month codes listed. All of my information is from the Remington Society website. I know I bought the rifle between August 2004 and July 2007 at a Oshman's sports store in TX. Obviously, it can't have been made in 2012. (See, college did pay off for me.:)) I could care less if it was made in 1986 but I cannot imagine a retailer keeping a gun in inventory for 18-20 years. The gun was on clearance when I bought it, but come on. :banghead:Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Thanks in advance for any help.

You should be able to call Remington and they will tell you the exact year it was made.

Thanks SlowR1der. I just did not want to sound like an idiot when I called.

No problem. I've always just called as have several friends, and they have always been able to tell us they were made. So that's what I'd do if it was me.
