Was at a gunshow yesterday and ran across the Smith. Dealer wanted $525. firm. Gun was probably 95%,or close. I got his card and figured maybe i'd call him in a few days to see if he still had it. Still think price is a little high. Opinions???

Someone will probably ask you this, so I may as well be the first:
Was it a 6.5" pinned barrel?
(apparently those are the most desired ones).
If I came across one of those here in the PRK, I wouldn't hesistate. But in other parts of the country, the prices may be lower.

Thanks for reply. No it was the 6" in 45acp. My Blue book only lists it for 350-400. But it's not the newest edition. I thought it was 75-100 to much. Joe.

Was that the Des Monies gunshow? I though about going but got lazy.
Sounds like it could be a nice shooter. A $525 asking price probably means the selling price would be around $450.
If you decide not to follow up with the dealer, please e-mail me his contact info.
Thanks...
Joe

But, for every 25 (-2 or -5) one sees at shows, there must be, what, twenty model 29s? Let dealer know you are serious, but not at all desperate. JoeH sounded close on the price to me.

If it is 95% with orig. case and tools it might be on the high end but ok. If there is no box and just the gun then the price should be in the $350-450 range(at least here in Va.).

JoeH,
Yeah it was the DesMoines show. It was the bare gun. NO extras, box, owners man.,etc. The price was 525 firm,he wouldn't budge. I've got his card someplace if you're interested. I'm not. Too pricey, there's better deals and guns if not in a hurry. Joe.
