Of those HP rounds listed, I find the Silver Tip the easiest to shoot well. A bonus is that it comes in 50 round boxes, though not always easy to find locally.

Any of the ball ammo should function just fine. Buy what's cheap.

The problem with Silvertip is, at least in NE OK, it's like nearly $50 box.

I like Fiocchi for FMJ; since it's not listed I'd take S&B of your choices. The European small caliber ammo is usually loaded a bit hotter than the American target stuff.

For JHP, I like Speer; short of it I would take the Federal (probably the Hydra Shok). Those two have the most reliable expansion in smaller calibers (and if you're choosing a JHP, you are after expansion, no?).

2) Federal Hydra Shok 90 gr PD380HS1

These would be my choices for defense ammo for range fodder whatever is cheapest.

Is a .380 hollow point really that likely to expand (when shooting a perp)? ... and if it does, will it be able to penetrate adequately? I tend to prefer the warmer FMJs in .380 for reliable function and better penetration ... the European ammo is usually warmer; such as Fiocchi...of what you have listed, I would try Sellier and Bellot first, then Remington.

The Winchester may be just fine...I use to use their white box ammo almost exclusively, but I have found some weak rounds in their ammo of the last few years...???

Corbon DPX in HP the copper bullet wins . I read Buffalo Bore is offering the DPX in his 380 loadings now also. I use S&B in ball

I don't own a .380, but from the research I have reviewed, the Federal Hydra-Shok has the deepest penetration (12" or so), and good expansion. My .02, tho.

I have been looking for .380ACP HYDRO SHOK for a while and finally found a place selling 50 round boxes, so I will be switching my BERETTA 84 over to it. I formally used the REMINGTON 88 grain jhp.
The HYDRO SHOK has one of the best street records and interestingly will just about always expand and yet penetrate almost as deeply as ball.

GUNTEST ranked it on top in their tests and the MARSHALL-SANOW books agree.

The FEDERAL jhp round has a good rep, but for this velocity range, I think the HYDRO SHOK cannot be beat.

I wwas using the REMINGTON because it is available in 100 round boxes for the price of many 50 round boxes. It feeds great and will expand to some degree.

All of that ammo is fine. The handgun may exhibit "preferences" of one over the other for accuracy, but you will have to test that for yourself, in your individual handgun. It should have no trouble feeding any of it. I recommend one of the hollowpoints for carry/self defense (if that is your intended use for the handgun) and the cheaper FMJs for practice.

I have almost all of your ammo brands and when I carry my BDA it's loaded with Buffalo Bore JHP or FNHC
