What Manufacturer-Sells Most Firearms in U.S.?

Looking on the internet for the answer to this question:

What Firearm Manufacture Makes/Sells Most Firearms in The U.S. / Worldwide?

I find a ton of opinionated best guess and stark results on the topic. Find plenty of most popular gun,caliber,etc.etc.etc.

I am sure there are some real numbers by manufacture somewhere.....

I am guessing Mossberg, Glock, Colt, Beretta.....?

This is firearms sold....not type! (incl.pistols, rifles, shotguns, revolvers)

Probably not, just a guess as of now.

Kel-Tec is supposed to be the third largest gunmaker in the US and I've heard that in more than one place. I've wondered who one and two are since I thought colt, ruger, S&W and possibly Remington were all bigger.

Cerberus Freedom Group to be exact for U.S. sales. Remington, Bushmaster, DPMS and Marlin all fall under their banner.

And just where does FN fall in the world-wide scheme of things? Or the Russians and their AK world-wide sales? Or the Chinese? Seems most of the folks here love their Russian/Chinese cheap guns, and FN now owns several major brands, and sells more guns to the gov't than anyone

I wouldn't count surplus as a brand.

Here's a link for 2009 production compliments of Dfariswheel in another thread. http://www.atf.gov/statistics/download/afmer/2009-firearms-manufacturers-export-report.pdf
I believe Remington is the top manufacturer of firearms in the USA.

On a yearly basis?

Taurus out sells everyone by a HUGE amount, they are the largest manufacturer of handguns in the world, most of that production goes to the US.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Incorporated is only worth about $150 million, Taurus is worth well over $400 million.

The entire freedom group combined is worth about $850 million.

I Speculated Taurus was in the top.

Also I think that $850 million number would possibly include there machine tool division Taurus Wotan?? maybe?

I am digging for real numbers......like the 2008 production numbers.

$400 million....:what: wow

There was an article in Shooting Industry (I think) that had total number of firearms produced by manufacturer in it a few months back.

The ATF publishes statistics for # firearms by manufacturer for firearms manufactured in the US, but I have never been able to find good, hard numbers for # firearms imported by importer.

Texas Ranger Dispatch magazine, 2/2010. In its 25+ years of manufacture Glock has sold over 6,500,000 guns in the U.S. In its 100+ years of manufacture the 1911 platform has only sold <5,000,000. These numbers do not include placement of MIL / LEO weapons.

there's exact numbers somewhere online from the ATF. i think s&w is near the top.

$ is one thing, number of guns sold is another. If Bryco, Jennings, Raven, Phoenix brands are still being made, then they surely outsell the high dollar group.
