Hello All,

I setup a local deal on a Browning Buckmark Practical URX. I'll meet the guy Tuesday for the deal, but was just wondering if anyone out there can tell me if there is anything in particular I should look for when inspecting the gun?

On a side note, I've not yet held a buckmark before - how would you compare the grip (width/thickness & Depth) to a ruger MkII/III(non 22/45)?
Ideally hoping its on the thin side like the Rugers, but guess I'll live if its not...

On a side note, We struck the price at $275 for the gun (with some bluing "issues" on the barrel), 3 mags, case and original paper work, and 1000+ pieces of .22 ammo - Assuming everything is ok, would this be considered a good deal?

Thanks,

Bob

You can't get much better than the Buck Mark URX for the money. There isn't too much to worry about that can't be easily replaced. The buffer in the rear of the slide will wear out but they are cheap. You can get a complete firing pin assembly if needed but I doubt you will unless it has been dry fired a lot. Look on the upper portion of the chamber face and see if it is peened. That indicates dry fire. The top rib is plastic and they will crack occassionally but you can replace that too. As to blueing issues, you can send it to some place like Robar and get that cured easily.

Lot of info on rimfirecentral if you need it. The price is right so far.

Your deal could be better if the seller included a under barrel laser. sight.
