Hi all, I've got what appears to be an ex-sniper Czech vz 24. From what I've found online, they were sold to the Romanians, and they then milled out the receiver for the scope mounts. I don't have a pic, but here is a link to one that is exactly like mine sans the scope mount and scope, http://imageevent.com/willyp/russiansovietcomblocsection/romania/vz24mausersniper.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about them. Are they rare? I'm find very little info on them online. Are they worth more than the average vz 24? Thanks in advance! :)

I like the actions and am trying to get some at reasonable prices. I don't know anything about the "sniper issue" or "sniper vz 24" but I do know their actions can be used to make some very accurate shooters. I have made a 6.5x55 Swede and a .308 which are both at or less than .5MOA with my handloads on a good day.

Here's a link to a closed auction for reproduction mounts made in the Czech Republic. I'm not sure if you were looking for something like this or not. Not cheap!

Original sniper conversion rifles with the machined receivers, should be worth quite a bit more than a standard VZ-24. I don't have any other info.

Anyone else know anything? Cool off. It's Sunday morning, give the process time to work. Come back and check tomorrow once some folks have had a chance to even see your thread.

And don't BUMP.
