What should recent events in the Middle East teach us about gun rights?

It's safer if your ancestors fought and died for your freedom, but if they didn't you may have to.

What do you think? Are there any particular events you have in mind?

Mideast is kinda a big place. I think the protesters that started were trying trying to take a page out of Gandhi's play book. They knew if they got in a shooting war or protested in a violent manner the military/police would step in with force; the government is always supplied better than the rabble. Having said that, I was really surprised that the bloodshed was not more prevalent in Egypt. By not fighting you try to win the police and military over to your side and your way of thinking hoping as they beat you to death someone takes pity on you. You have to sacrifice a few peaches to make a peach cobbler.
