up to have a trigger pull like the Smith? Since the 2 makes are virtually identical, I don't see why not? The M94 Taurus, I think it is, with the adjustable sights, is the model to which I refer. I've heard that the trigger pulls on it really suck, but I'd like to be able to recommend a used Taurus to those wanting to learn on a revolver.

While Tauruses have mutated and are no longer close copies of S&W, there is no reason one could not be smoothed up to some extent.
Jack Weigand was briefly in cahoots with Taurus and might be able to advise.

I agree with Jim, though you'll want to limit how much you put into it. Too much and your in S&W J Frame .22 territory, and you may as well go with one of them. I wouldn't put more than $50 or so into one.

I had a 94, and yes, the trigger was pretty horrendous. Very stiff, rough, jerky ... everything you expect a crappy trigger to be, and more! :p
