Govenor Release Date

A friend of mine just had his Jugde break and he want's to get rid of it in favor of a S&W Govenor. Has anyone heard when they are going to be released?

They're out now, in limited quantities.... I saw one at the gun show last weekend for $575.

I bought mine Monday - shot the ammo shown Tuesday - replaced the OEM boot (right, below) with the .500 Magnum grips and should get to shoot it again today. I even ordered a S&W (Desantis) leather OWB RH holster for it.

It has a tritium Night Sight, ball detent lockup, black SS cylinder, Al/Sc alloy frame (29.6 oz), and will launch 2.5" .410's, .45 Colts, .45 Schofields, and moonclipped .45 ACP's - six at a time. The trigger is 'politically correct' for S&W - smooth but stout enough in DA to pop anything, primer-wise. Did I mention that it is fun?

Stainz, you have all the best toys! How's the recoil and accuracy so far?

It hits POA @12yd with UMC 230gr FMJ .45 ACP - very close with my .45 Colt/Schofield loads... never missed even the smaller SPC targets. It hits everywhere with the #6 & #9 shot and slightly higher than COM with the Win PDX1. Recoil is quite manageable with the Hogue .500 Magnum monogrip - it was painful with the OEM boot grips. Fun shooter - even my wife shot it.
