I have held one at a gun shop. It looked nice. It did seem that the grip seemed wide front to back for the thickness of the grip. It kind of wobbled in my hand because of this.

The DB380 was nice looking too. To bad it didn't work.

I got to see one yesterday. Yes, Kel-Tec has lost its claim to "the lightest and flattest 9mm pistol available." I laid it across a PF9 the dealer also had (didn't want to unholster and clear my own!), and the KT appeared to be about 1/5 inch taller and about half an inch shorter in length. I believe the magazine capacity is the same though, since I wasn't there for that, I didn't think to check.
As snappy as the Kel-Tec is to shoot, I don't think I'd want anything smaller in that caliber. Handsome pistol, though.
BTW, what I had gone there for was a KT P32 for occasional deep-concealment. Didn't have one handy, but he ordered me one. Should have it in a few days :D
Edit: I just saw above where Kokapelli gives the magazine capacity for the DB9 as one less than the KT.

i have three friends that bought diamondback 380's when they first came out. all had to go back to the factory for various issues, and none still owns them.
i honestly didn't know diamondback was still in business until i heard about this 9mm version coming out.

I've personally shot the Diamond Back .380 and will skip on anything they build. The gun refused to return to battery at least a half dozen times in a fifty round session. It failed with WWB (x2), Hornady CD, Lawman, and Federal Hydrashok (x2). It required a swift hard smack on the rear of the slide to reset. Then the slide would not rack without dropping and reinserting the mag.
It was an odd type of thing. I haven't seen it with any other gun. I would not trust it in a personal defense situation. When you need your gun you don't have time for complicated problems.
This occured from the time the gun was new until it was sold off at 300 rounds. Diamond Back repair service said they "could not duplicate any such issue." They sent the gun back and it continued to malfunction.
Disclaimer:
It was not my gun, but I was present for two range sessions where these problems occured. The problem occured with multiple shooters including myself.
With all of that said, I wouldn't trust the 9mm any more than the .380.
ETA:
I wanted to explain the malfunction more completely.
After firing the gun would not return to battery and the slide would have to be whacked in to battery. This would not fully load the next round. The slide would also lock in place. You would have to drop the clip. At that time the unseated bullet would fall on the ground. You would then have to reinsert the magazine and rack the slide again.

Does the DB9 have the mag safety; will it fire without a mag in it? Also, it looks like a glock, does it have a glock like trigger as in 5.5 lbs and a quick reset?
