I am thinking of picking up a Ruger GP100 in 327 Fed. Mag. Has anyone out there used this round enough to give me a real account of its stopping power?

Been shooting, casting bullets and hand loading one for about two years, haven't stopped anything with it yet!!!! It is a Charter Arms Target Patriot, great gun.

I have not got to do much with it, but I like its potetnial, I just ask my local gun shop to get me one of them, a Ruger Sp101 or a Taurus....

I really like the ballistics chart on the .327!

So I may get to do some testing for myself! I like that you can also use the 32 H&R and S&W in them as well. 1 gun shoots 3 calibers......

I like anything that promotes shooting 32 calaiber guns. I have several 32s and really like the round. The 327 doesn't interest me much since most of the 32 loads I shoot are less than full power now. I have a S&W 431PD 32 mag snubby that I think the world of. I much prefer this gun to a 5 shot 38.

If you like the idea of a hot 32 the 327 should fill the bill. I am afraid that like all other 32s ammo will always be hit or miss. If you like this round then consider reloading for it. i have only owned one box of 32 mag that was factory loaded. All the rest have been handloads.

The doctor who promoted the Scarsedale diet was shot to death with an H&R 32 S&W long revolver. I seem to remember that at least one round went all the way through his body. The 327 is way beyond the power of the 32 long and should be a fine defense round.

Have a look at this:

And compare it to some other loads to give you an idea.

It's a shame that it's mostly available in snubbies. It gets very interesting very quickly in a longer barrel.

Thanks for your input,my problem has been in choosing a 3 caliber 32 over a 2caliber 357 or 44. I like the small caliber I think I will give it a shot(pun intended). Thanks

If you want more power and still multiple calibers, you can shoot 45 Colt out of a 454 Casull or if you get a 460 S&W, then you can shoot 460 SW, 454 Casull, and 45 Colt. Just thought I'd toss it out there.
