Is this a good buy for $350? Usual blueing wear, but stock is good, no cracks.

I'd say it's about market. No glass and in an unpopular caliber hurt it, but it's a Husky and in good shape. Could go either way.

I wouldn't mind owning it myself, if that's any help.

I love 8mm mauser :) And I reload so it's no problem. Plus, I don't plan to scope it.

Just for some comparisons, I bought this the other day for $350. It's a '49. Haven't got it in my hands yet but from my transmissions with the seller, it sounds like it's in pretty good shape.....

I like the schnabel end forestock. I think from what I've read, the rifle I'm considering is the earlier 648 model, where as yours, is probably a newer 648 with the newer stock. Btw, having never owned a mauser, where is the bolt release?

That boxy lever opposite the bolt handle, like a 1917 Enfield.

Actually my biggest question is how do you load these things?....:D

I'd try going in at 275. You might be able to negotiate a little less than the 350 asking.

It's solid looking, the front barrel band is nice. It needs some oil rubbed on the stock to see how that wood really is, but that's a reasonable price if the barrel looks good.
