Hello everyone I am in the market for a can for my walther p22 and after research I cannot get a good difinitive picture of which one I should get. I will be using the can for pretty much only this gun unless I get another one. I have been looking at the TAC-65, Quest, Sratus, and SWR Spectre. Now which one can I rely on for years to come and is going to be quiet enough to be worth my money? Thank you for your input! :D

They definitely seem to be the most popular. And the most economical Have you used any of the others?

BTW holy rusted gun pile thats so unfortunate :(

I have a Stratus and am very happy with it. It gets attached in turns to a buckmark, 10/22, and Savage mk II. It is not full auto rated if that is a concern for you. I like the light weight. I was a bit worried about the aluminum construction but it is holding up just fine.

The aluminum is a concern for me but I am really only going to be using the P22 and with a ten round clip I dont think Ill need to go stainless. What do you think? How easy is yours to clean?

Super easy to clean after disassembly with a strap wrench and the end cap tool.

The silencerco sparrow is very well regarded and is probably the easiest to clean.

theres one I havent heard of yet! The baffles look crazy with that one! I would compare that one with the Spectra. That one definitely looks like the easiest to clean.

The Apex from Innovative Arms is super easy to clean as well.

Here's a picture (http://www.innovativearms.com/imagelib/sitebuilder/misc/show_image.html?linkedwidth=actual&linkpath=http://bfmn5h3ucs.web.aplus.net/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/Apexcore.jpg&target=tlx_picsnfg&title=Apex%2022lr). $300 with the take down tool.

I like the Checkmate better than most that you can buy. None are as quite as my F1 though.

I've got a silencerco 22 Sparrow (Mk 2). It sounds like a wussy pellet gun when you fire the P22. The loudest thing is the slide going into battery. The Silencerco is able to be completely dis-assembled for cleaning. The exterior tube contains the serial number and you would really have to screw up to damage that tube. The baffles and threaded ends are all serviceable items!

It costs 500 bucks. But you only need to buy it once.

Major Malfunction recently posted this on Silencerforum - it's a comparison between most of the major .22 suppressors out there right now on a P22:

I have a coastal passport.

On a P22 is sounds like a quiet staple gun.
Bullet impact is sometimes louder.

On a bolt action it's scary quiet.

Maybe you should consider a Thompson Machine Zephyr XL, they are a take down can for cleaning and the price is great.( around $200ish normally )

Avoid the Tac 65, you could just tape a pop bottle over the end of your barrel and pay the feds $200 bucks because thats pretty much what your getting when compared to most modern silencers. You may also consider the Tacsol CasCade or the Gemtech OutbackII or Alpine.

The Huntertown Arms suppressors retail for 219.00 and work as well as any out there...they are probably the best value for the dollar.

Look em up.
