Teary eyes and a "wet" boots

My goal and reasons for living have been met. I finally got my Hakim in the condition and price I only dreamed about. Just came back from a 50 table gun show and at the 3rd table.....there she was, an excellent Hakim with mint bore, original rifle sling and gas port ajusting tool all for the unheard price of $400 out the door AND through a private dealer. I have been searching the gun shows for years looking for a Hakim and the only other one I had found was $700:cuss: about a year ago. Large or small show it made no difference, NO ONE had one for sale except the grossly overpriced one mentioned. I was soooo excited about my find I could barely take on the act of dis-interested buyer. The seller proceeds to give me a hardsell on it and explains all I ever needed to know about the Hakim, (little does he know that my right boot is filling up with urine due to my suppressed joy).
I give a sob story that at $400 he will be taking my last dollar (close but not true) I ask him to place the rifle behind his table while I spend 15 minutes going through the rest of the show (I stop to empty my boot too) and making sure that I do in fact have that much money on me or do I need to go home and pick-up another $50. The funds are a GO!
I wander over to his table again and the hardsell starts again (my boot is filling-up again) and he shows me how to take the Hakim apart (a can of Pepsi is more complex) I ponder offering $350 (I'm an EVIL person) when he offers to throw in a case (two sealed tins,760 rounds) of Romainian 8mm mauser ammo (my other boot is filling-up now) and offers to carry the ammo out to my car! Tears are streaming down my face, I detect a light shining down from Heaven focused on me. As I open my wallet to conclude the deal white doves fly out of it (Honest!) not moths. I am walking so high off the floor (people are walking around the spreading puddle) I can't bear to make the guy carry the ammo for me, I grab it along with the "magical Hakim" and float out to my car, yet I was not weary upon arrival.
Life is good, yesterday I picked-up a Webley for $98 same kind of story. I have to go now, I think I have gotten a sign to play the lottery.:D

(my boot is filling-up again)

(my other boot is filling-up now) So in the middle of all this you're taking the time to change carry mode and move your "ccw" from one side to the other?

You do know that you're providing us with more information than we actually need here? :D

tele .... seems the luck god is with you this weekend!! Coupla guys yesterday were excercizing their Hakims at a very snowy shoot .. makes we want one!

Is that handgun the other purchase .. you referred to as MkIV Webley? I posted a pic on your other thread of my old MkIV ... it ain't like that one!! Either I am wrong (happens!) or this one of yours surely is one of the Enfields .... based on Webley design ... MkII or something .. damn I forget all the designations at times! I had a couple like that.

Ever hear of a "security blanket"? Well, at 51 I have to make "ajustments".

tele ... it is quite possible I was under a misapprehension all these years re my (what I thought was) MkIV ... see pic on your other thread.

My Enfields were as below .. again poor pics, sorry .... one was the ''std'' with spur ....... the other was bobbed and for D/A only .... someone else will remember the correct designations I am sure. My history knowledge is sorely lacking! :p

I believe the top one is a (rare?) Enfield MK1(so many***'s) before the hammers were bobbed
and the bottom is an Enfield MKII, DAO due to complaints about the hammer catching on the turret ring when getting out of tanks.

The Enfield MK1 is VERY close to the MKIV Webley design. Good Pics.
