Bent barrel fix?

I just inherited an old remington single shot .22 from my late brother and after working on it (it was in kinda poor shape) it seems as though the barrel had been bent at on time and someone did their best to straighten it out. When I push the rod through it gets caught ever so slightly where the bend was. Is there any way a smith can fix that?

Yes, if he has a press and can roll that barrel back to true. Given that 22 barrels aren't that expensive you might be better off just replacing it. If the bend is out towards the muzzle, and it's over 16" from the breech face, there's always the option of cutting it back and re-crowning.

Or you could make a hilariously inconvenient pistol.
