Ladies and cross-dominance

I noticed lots of postings over the years where guys say:
"My wife is cross-dominant" Actually, my wife is cross-dominant too...

So I was reading this British book:
The Better Shot: Step-By-Step Shotgun Technique With Holland and Holland
by Ken Davies, ISBN: 1870948645

These guys accumulated many generations worth of experience training shotgunners; they also keep good records.

The author states "About 90% of right-handed women are left-eye dominant"

Pretty interesting statistic, isn't it?

Is this why they usually have their footwork "mixed up" in that the "wrong" foot is forward???:confused:

That's very interesting ! They have shown that it's easier to train the hand than the eye so you should shoot on the dominant eye side.

I'd guess about 40% myself, but admittedly I haven't kept records.

Some new females shooters switch over well. Others resist it greatly and it's easier to get them to shut the off eye. Whatever works...

I went to a hunting class in Gainesville, Florida. The girl I talked too was cross-dominant, too.
