Were about to take a drive across the country. I want to bring our pistols with us.

1) Is there a good link with information on each handgun transport laws?
a) If we can find one, put it in the library??

2) I can almost make it across with my Idaho permit and getting 2 or 3 other non-resident permits.

I will be taking my safe with is to put them in, while driving in the real anti states.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Good ole Packing.org (http://www.packing.org) and it's already in the Library :) There is a car/gun law summary for each state.

You will probably wear the hinges out on your safe taking your handguns out and putting them back in as you travel across the country. :(

It's probably a good thing to know the laws of the state you are traveling through, but I endorse keeping the handgun loaded and on you while you are travelling. Don't be stupid and attract the attention of cops, don't consent to search if you do get pulled over. The interstate system is the US sewer system, and I won't get on it unarmed.
