Subject line says it all. I'm so cheap I've never even seen new brass before, but I bought 500pcs from Graf's for my 7.5x55. I'm thinking to go ahead just to de-burr things. Oh okay, I got the shiny jones bad! Precious!
Anyways, nice looking brass and all is neck annealed.

Greeting's Navy Joe-

I wouldn't think NEW brass would need polishing? But I like
for my USED handgun brass to be nice and shiney. So, I use
any kind'a cheap liquid car polish that does not contain any
amonia. Just mix a little in my R.C.B.S. Vibratory Cleaner and
mix in the cases, and crank her up for about 3 hours! At the
end of the time period, I simply remove the cleaned
cases; and refill the machine with more cases and repeat the

i resize, trim, uniform primer pockets, and de-burr flash holes on new brass... throwing the brass in a tumbles is a great way to restore the shine that the sizing lube takes off, and get rid of all the brass shavings and trimmings. yep, i polish new brass.

I've never polished new brass, if you had some that sat around for quite a while and darkened up I might do it. I've got some virgin Starline 45 ACP, it shines real purdy! ;)

Resize new brass, yes; polish new brass, no.

I don't polish my brass, no matter how I get it I tumble clean then inspect it before going into my Star and other reloaders and that is to prolong the life of my equipment and to look at every piece of brass I reload. It is cheaper to find any defects before reloading them and quality control of some products these days are for the birds.

Well, that depends on how dirty it is when I grab it off the ground at the range... I try to get it before some thoughtless range guy scrathces it up when he sweeps up after people!

Oh, I guess you meant completley brand-new brass! I've heard about that stuff, never seen it though... Like that Paris Hilton video...

I polish my new 38super brass. Not for pretty or deburring but to get a light coat of wax on them. They then reload much more smoothly. On everything else I might polish new brass if I ever got any.

Like Dakotasin, I run it thru the Thumler's as a final step in brass prep, to get the shavings out.:D
