Galil5.56 July 11, 2011, 12:49 PM Load to a good, reasonable OAL with that charge, and you are all set... But, you might consider dropping a few tenth's, and go from their as well since you are using a different component from what you used before. MissouriBullet July 11, 2011, 12:55 PM Our customer Jake Harris posted his W231 loads on our Facebook page over the weekend - http://www.facebook.com/missouribullet jcerillo70 July 11, 2011, 01:58 PM Jake Harris 3.8 and 4.0 gr of HP-38, in both the cone and swc. Ruger sr9c and no leading. ----(OAL) Pretty sure it was 1.25" for the cone and 1.08" for SWC. Mixed head stamps. Thats my start load 3.8 anything under 4 my gun wont cycle. Ill probably go 4.2 win 231. The oal seems low, i wish i had my lyman book back from dads, it probably has this bullet in there jcerillo70 July 11, 2011, 02:26 PM Tell me why i just found a copy of my thread on the jihad network??? http://www.tookshow.net/vb/showthread.php?t=788862 Thats not good MissouriBullet July 11, 2011, 05:24 PM Tell me why i just found a copy of my thread on the jihad network??? http://www.tookshow.net/vb/showthread.php?t=788862 Thats not good Ummmm, allah akbar, y'all? A very strange thing indeed. Quoheleth July 11, 2011, 08:28 PM That's freaky wierd...the jihad network? Yikes... Better bust out the tinfoil hat, just in case. Q ArchAngelCD July 12, 2011, 05:14 AM With a 124/125gr lead bullet I charge 4.0gr W231. You can go as high as 4.4gr W231 with a COAL of somewhere around 1.125" depending on the bullet profile. The 4.0gr load works well for me and is quite accurate but if you're using the ammo in a pistol with a very heavy slide you might need a stiffer charge. squarles67 July 12, 2011, 09:22 AM Ummmm, allah akbar, y'all? I don't care who ya are....that's funny right there...... squarles67 July 12, 2011, 09:31 AM This is not a recomendation to do so but I've gone as high as 4.9g HP-38 with MB 125g LRN at OAL 1.06 in my CZ-75B with out issue or pressure signs. Velocity was 1159 but it leaded too much for me. After lots of testing with my CZ I ended up using 5.6g AA#5, very accurate in my pistol with minimal leading. AVG-1069 ES-18.46 SD-6.24
