Looking around for an all purpose, fixed carbon bladed knife for general woods use. I've looked at the K-Bar, Becker BK- series, Ontario series, Any ideas?

I have a K-Bar style Camillus and a Becker BK7. I prefer the grip and balance of the Becker over the stacked leather of my Camillus. Of course My Camilus was made in 1968 and has seen better days.

With that being said. If you are not too picky about the factory finish and you intend to "use" the knife I have to suggest going to the following website:

http://www.camillusknives.com/store/s-pages/1sframe.html

...And buy both the BK7 for $37 and the Pilot Survival Knife for $26. ;)

My RCC USN MK 2!
My father carried it as a member of the 1st. Marine Division-Fleet Marine Force at Guadalcanal & Cape Glaucher.
It still provides good service today.
As Rupestris has stated, more modern versions are available today.

I have had good luck with K-Bar for an all around knife.
