I looking for a load to work up in my SBR its a 7.5 AR. I looking for something that will help cut down on the carbon fauling. Please let me know what you have tried in your rilfe or AR pistol.

Only 7.5" would have to be a fast powder but for a AR I have no idea what would operate the action.

That is slower then I would have guessed. I was expecting something between universal & HS6.

Is it a fire breather with IMR 4198?

Regardless of the barrel length, the powder used in a gas operated firearm must be pretty close to a standard rifle load to operate the gas system without over gassing/too much pressure, or under gassing/not enough pressure.

Whatever powder gives the highest velocity in a long barrel will also give the highest velocity in a short barrel.

Just pick a powder you want out of any .223 rifle reloading data and it will be pretty much the right burn rate.

The IMR-4198 is about as fast a powder as you can use in a standard gas system, regardless of barrel length.
